- Abstract
The article presents a research study on the theoretical reflection of humanity and implications to social aspects on correctional practice interfering criminology, philosophy, and psychology. It discusses the transformations of penitentiary system in the U.S. and its implication to the concept and practices of rehabilitation in comparison in the book "Making Good: How Ex-Convicts Reform & Rebuild Their Lives," by Shadd Maruna. It highlights on the concept of transforming criminal behaviour to law abiding citizens using religious rehabilitation, other therapeutic models, and psychotherapeutic perspective using phenomenology of desistance.
