- Abstract
The article discusses a study focusing on the use of cell-selective arrhythmia ablation for photomodulation of heart rhythm. Topics discussed include the correlation of heart disease with arrhythmias; the use of chlorin e6 (Ce6), a nanoparticle containing a cardiac-targeting peptide (CTP) and a photosensitizer, in the study for specific delivery of ablative energy to myocytes; and the use of rat heart cell and human stem cell–derived cardiomyocyte and fibroblast cocultures in the study.
