- Abstract
The article presents Negru Vodă who, according to the chronicles, represents a character who supposedly ruled over two small Transylvanian territories in Romania. It notes that according to the author, after long decennia of analysis, he has been perceived as one of the enigmas of the Romanian Middle Ages. It also notes that from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the first historiographic approaches managed to bring forth a series of hypotheses.
