- Abstract
The article writes a critique on the epic poems "Rime of the Ancient Mariner," by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and "Thulia: a Tale of the Antarctic," by James Croxall Palmer. It explores the use of southern polar continent, scientific expeditions in Antarctica, and crimes against nature and their punishments in the poems. It discusses the relationship between art and science in the narratives and notes that Palmer wrote from his own personal experiences traveling in the Antarctic.
