- Abstract
The article provides information on the library of Friedrich Konrad Gadebusch on Baltic historical bibliography. The library is said to contain more than 2,600 books including his own manuscripts papers and collection of materials at various stages of completeness. Gadebusch's library was the most complete Livonian collection of the second half of the 18th century which already became a legend during the historian's lifetime. One year after Gadebusch's death, his heir and follower, Johann Martin Hehn, published an inventory of the collection of books and coins of his late father-in-law which reflects the scholar's wide range of interests. The library which specializes on Livonian history also include books on law, philosophy, economics, and literature on various scientific findings.
