- Abstract
This article focuses on the representation of complex relationship between the romance and the novel from Charlotte Lennox's "The Female Quixote." She uses a representation of a romance-reading heroine to critique his ideal and investigate the potential of female education to reshape the role of women within the society. Also provided in the article is the brief description of her book as well as the description of the roles of its characters.
