- Abstract
This article discusses the management of anterior urethral strictures and presents the results of a survey conducted among Iranian urologists. Urethral strictures are a common urological condition that primarily affects older adults and is more prevalent in developing countries. The standard treatment for anterior urethral strictures is open urethroplasty, but minimally invasive methods like urethrotomy and dilation are also used. The survey found that Iranian urologists have a low inclination towards open urethroplasty and a limited adherence to existing management guidelines. This is attributed to a lack of experience and training in open urethroplasty. The survey also highlights a preference for minimally invasive procedures among Iranian urologists.
