- Abstract
Within Samsun with its great deal of historical buildings available are from the time of Ottoman Empire there are one mosque, two tombs, one fortress ruin and one bath. These are Emirza Bey Tomb in Turbe Village-Bafra (1381-Beyliks of Bafra), Hizir Bey Tomb in Çetinkaya Belde-Bafra (1411-1420-Candarogullari), Hizir Bey Bath in Çetinkaya Belde-Bafra (1411-1420-Candarogullari), Ordu Village Mosque and Fortress in Çarsamba (approximately 1420-Taceddinogullari). The buildings in question, although few numerically, some of them are rather important in terms of history and architecture. Ordu Village is the capital of Taceddinogullari and the mosque in Ordu Village in Çarsamba is one of the oldest and big çanti mosques. The mosque that is of a convenient manner and basic decorative mentality is a good pattern of our traditional building art which has local characteristics. Although the fortress which we think that it can belong to Taceddinogullari and just its ruin reached to present day in the same willage is unimportant from the architectural point of view it is important because of being a proof for structuring in the period of The Beylik. The Tombs of Emirza and Hizir Beys are of perfect square form. The sarcophaguses of Emirza Bey Tombs are some of the most original and good conditioned sarcophaguses in Samsun. The sarcophaguses refer to the period of Beyliks following the Seljuk tradition with absolute style similarity. Hizir Bey Bath which reached to present day in a ruined manner can be admitted in original structure to have a place arrangement suitable for the type with a doom in the midst and a caldarium and double private rooms (halvet) in transverse plan. These buildings, some of which reached to present day, are modest structures in our traditional architecture. They reflect the characteristics of-their period. These structures must be taken under protection. Because they introduce the structuring of Beyliks Period and are primary witnesses of history.
