- Abstract
The article discusses the Adolescent Literary Project (ALP), a literacy initiative at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) to provide explicit strategy instruction in literacy to secondary school teachers, coaches and administrators. Topics addressed include ALP's funding through the Collaborative Center for Literacy Development, teachers' concerns about text complexity across content and grade levels, and structuring the components needed to support student learning.
