- Abstract
The monuments of Bonampak have been investigated by various researchers; nevertheless Sculptured Stones 2, 4, and 5 do not have secure dates because of the lack of Long Count notations on them. Due to that lack, the reconstruction of the history of the site is varied among the investigators. In this article I propose a new sequence dating for the monuments on the 7th century AD. Also, I suggest that the Bonampak rulers used Xukalnah as a title, which could have been referred to an unknown site, while the name of one part of Bonampak, or the name of the whole site, was written by the syllable u and the head of a bird wich is still undeciphered.
