In the article, the author discuses the origins of academic Jewish law scholarship and the importance of his book-length bibliography project. Also cited are how he used his profession as librarian in determining the works he adds to his bibliography project, the value of old-fashioned bibliography in the era of electronic database searching, and the differences between a bibliographic perspective and standard scholarly perspective.
