- Abstract
The article discusses the difficulty of balancing a right of privacy in New York with the doctrine of prior restraint in relation to the Supreme Court of New York, Appellate Division, Third Department's ruling in the 2014 case Proco v. Lifetime Entertainment Services LLC which deals with a temporary restraining order against a television network which was seeking to produce a film about a citizen's murder prosecution. New York statutes and freedom of speech protections are also examined.
