The article discusses the court case Chaidez v. United States filed in the U.S. Supreme Court. Topics discussed include defense attorneys required to inform criminal defendants regarding the deportation risks of guilty pleas, importance of the Sixth Amendment right to counsel to protect fundamental right to a fair trial and use of the judgments in the cases Strickland v. Washington and Padilla v. Kentucky in Chaidez v. United States.
