- Abstract
The article examines the dangers that countries face, especially low and middle-income countries, in trade negotiations with the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Topics discussed include the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS); the international court case 'Eli Eily v. Canada' related to the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) investment clause; and Canadian standards of patentability.
