In this article the author shares his experience of visiting the most remote and unfrequented glens and islands in Scotland. The author feels the necessity of good roads in Scotland and need of ready and convenient communication path with the other countries. The author furthers mentions that the area from the Caledonian canal, northward along the back-bone of the country, to the northern shore of Sutherland needs new lines of road.
