Changes to veterinary surveillance in England and Wales.
- Authors
Simpson, Vic
- Abstract
The article focuses on the consultation document released by the Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) titled "Surveillance 2014 and beyond," which proposes changes to the existing system of diagnosing and monitoring food-producing animal diseases in Wales and England. The AHVLA aims to increase access to postmortem facilities for livestock owners. The AHVLA believes that private veterinary surgeons should be able to carry out postmortem examinations on cattle.
