The article reports on the consultation exercise undertaken by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) that includes three options to ensure the welfare of wild animals in traveling circuses in Great Britain. The options are the complete ban on the use of wild animals in traveling circuses, voluntary self-regulation and compulsory statutory regulation. Also mentioned are Animal Welfare Act 2006 and the website where the document can be found.
