- Abstract
The article discusses what the authors refer to as the growing trend of animal-abuser registries in America as of 2017, and it mentions how all 50 states in the U.S. have felony provisions for serious crimes against animals. Misdemeanors and abuse involving dogs, cats, and livestock are addressed, along with the U.S. National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) and an animal abuse registries in Suffolk County, New York, Tennessee, and Cook County, Illinois.
