- Abstract
On the bottom of the dam usually various sediments concentrate. If on the dam a hydropower station is built, water of the functioning station streams through the dam and lifts sediments from the bottom. Though the process of sediment mixing with water depends on the mode of the plant functioning in all cases the downstream water after the dam is polluted with substances of different origin. All these substances mixed with water may be regarded as suspended or diluted organic and mineral impurities. The paper deals with the mathematical description of the process of river water self-purification after a hydropower plant stream down the river. The mathematical model includes many parameters of water stream as well the distribution of pollution through a section of the river channel. Several trends of relations between the stream parameters and the pollution parameters are presented.
