- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which aims to describe physician rationing behaviors and characteristics of rationing in the U.S. Topics discussed include the frequency in which physicians personally refrained, due to cost to the health care system, from using 10 different interventions such as laboratory tests, magnetic resonance imaging and prescription drugs, and the need for valid, empirical evidence towards rationing for physician approaches and attitudes towards rationing.
