- Abstract
The article focuses on cryptosporidium as the main cause of severe non-resolving infection in children and immunocompromised individuals like AIDS patients. Parasites are transmitted by environmentally hardy cysts or oocysts in small intestine and results in the infection of intestinal epithelial tissue. Oocysts can be detected in surface water that receives discharge of wastewater and agriculture, drinking water and recreational water.
