- Abstract
The article discusses the resemblance of the doctrine debellatio with the invasion of Iraq by the British and U.S. coalition forces. It explores the application of an international law to exercise authority by one sovereign state over another within its geographical boundaries. It includes how the United Nation labeled the coalition as occupying powers to invoke the body of international occupation law over post-invasion Iraq.
