- Abstract
A 61-year-old man with stroke risk factors presented with symptoms that initially suggested a brainstem stroke. However, his condition rapidly worsened, and he developed symptoms consistent with Miller Fisher syndrome. Further investigation revealed that he had consumed contaminated almond milk, leading to a diagnosis of botulism. The patient was treated with antitoxin and eventually recovered after months of hospitalization. This case highlights the challenges in diagnosing botulism and emphasizes the importance of timely administration of antitoxin.
