- Title
CDC: Pregnant women need to know more about cytomegalovirus risk.
- Abstract
The article reports that the January 25, 2008 issue of the "Morbidity and Mortality Report" from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention indicated that few obstetricians (ob) and gynecologists (gyns) counsel pregnant patients on cytomegalovirus risk. Dr. B. Anderson of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and his colleagues wrote that 90% of ob/gyns know about cytomegalovirus and 60% of them advises patients regarding risk and preventive measures, leading them to state that additional training is needed.
