- Abstract
ob matching and employment counselling are the two key active labour market policies of the Welfare State for struggling with unemployment. Eliminating lack of information and employer-employee mismatch in the labour market are accepted as the main elements of employment counselling service. Employment counselling also include job-search assistance and occupation counselling. It is a process of helping workforce to choose the appropriate job; to have on the job training; to get into a job and to overcome the difficulties on job orientation by comparing person's qualifications and occupational requirements. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of ISKUR's Job and Occupation Counselling service on the basis of job and occupation counsellers. For that purpose, a quantitative research has carried out on job and occupation counsellers who are working at ISKUR Bursa Province Directorship. According to results, job and occupation counsellers has adopted their jobs as a permanent and promising job and thus the level of job satisfaction occurs high. On the other hand, the lack of knowledge and skill on Job and Occupation Counselling, institutional incapacity of ISKUR and job insecurity for permanent contract are specifically the major problems of job and occupation counsellers.
