- Title
Research on Application of Electrodeposition Technology in Steel Rolling Production Equipment.
- Abstract
Rollers play a crucial role in steel processing lines. Low carbon steel is commonly used as the material of rollers due to its good mechanical properties and cost-effectiveness, but its low hardness, poor wear resistance and short service life pose significant challenges to steel rolling production. To solve these problems, a Ni-W- SiC composite coating is applied on the surface of rollersby using electrodeposition technology. The hardness of the coating is up to 1 052 HV, and the average friction factor is 0.311 1. The results of industrial tests show that untreated metal rollers have a service life of only 15 d before showing signs of wear, while the wear of metal rollers treated with the wear-resistant composite coating is noticeable after 115 d of use, which improves the service life of rollers by a factor of about 7.7.
