- Abstract
The article focuses on the production of electronic music and popular music in Chile during the 1970s and 1980s, particularly under the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet. Topics discussed include the use of lyrics of popular Chilean music to reflect social and political messages, especially as a form of protest and public criticism of the Miracle of Chile, or the economic recovery under Pinochet. Focus is given to the music groups Electrodomésticos and Los Prisioneros.
