- Abstract
The article presents a study on the in vivo indirect measurement of cytochrome P450 (CYP)-related activities in freshwater gastropod mollusks. It notes that the CYP system is distributed across the taxonomic category in a greater extent and plays a vital role in the metabolism of xenobiotic compounds. In this regard, the authors characterized the ethoxycoumarin-O-deethylase (ECOD), ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD), and pentoxyresorufin-O-dealkylase (PROD) activities in two freshwater gastropod mollusks, Potamopyrgus antipodarum and Valvata piscinalis.
