- Abstract
This article presents the results of the research about construction of family sense in schooled teenagers. The objective of the research was to make an approach to the sense of family of a group of 499 students between 12 and 18 years at public schools in Bogota using the perspective of experience building in everyday life of Berger and Luckmann. A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted using a survey of socioeconomic variables, family variables, activities, practices and values that promote family, among others. The results show that participants have built their family sense through daily family practices and activities. In addition, they recognize family as the most important social reference for the construction of the person and the life experience. Furthermore, results show differences between the sense of family and the family composition and also that family activities depend upon age and social class. Knowing the subjective reality of families through the sense teenagers have of it, allows a better understanding of family in modern society.
