- Abstract
The article reports on a study which shows the potentials of the glutamate prodrug, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), in reducing drug-seeking. It mentions that NAC administered before daily extinction trials and during abstinence reduced cocaine primed reinstatement produces enduring reductions in drug-seeking. It notes that the clinical findings is a critical achievement for potential clinical efficacy of an antirelapse medication and NAC's potential in reducing cocaine craving in humans.
