REGULATION OF PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS.
- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Nicholas, Nick L.
- Abstract
The article presents U.S. legal cases and developments in marketing relative to the regulation of product characteristics. A 1985 petition by U.S. pillow manufacturer New York Feather Company was denied by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC). The petition asked the FTC to set aside a 1951 order for the company to cease and desist from misrepresenting the materials of which the company's pillows were made. In reference to credit terms and conditions of sale the Arlie Glen Skelton, et al. v. General Motors Corp. and the John F. "Jack" Walsh, et al. v. Ford Motor Co. cases are cited.
