- Abstract
The article explores the relationship between gender, marital status, and alcohol use by older adults. The authors utilize longitudinal data to evaluate the experiences of single life, marriage, divorce, and remarriage and the drinking behaviors of men and women. Emphasis is given to topics such as the impact of divorce on men, the convergence of drinking behaviors during marriage, and social control.
