- Abstract
The article discusses relationships between people and domestic animals in early modern England. It particularly comments on animal bone remains recovered in archaeological excavations as sources, noting what they can reveal about husbandry regimes, injuries such as bone fractures, and diseases such as bone infections. The authors also consider husbandry manuals and wills, noting how the latter can provide insights concerning the economic value of domestic animals and owners' personal relationships with them.
