- Abstract
Policies based on endogenous growth theories areparticularly important for achieving national growth targets. Both physical capital and human capital have an influence on growth . Thus, factors affecting human capita willl indirectly contribute to the growth trend of countries. Although there are many factors that affect human capital, high levels of literacy and health are important because of their positive effects on labor. In this study, the effects of health spending and education spending on economic growth of Turkey for the period 1998:1-2016:1 are analyzed. According to the results of the study, while education spending has no significant effect on economic growth in the long-run, an increase in health spending has a positive effect.
