- Abstract
Antonio Caballero y Góngora was an important ecclesiastical and political figure of the Spanish Enlightenment who, after a life marked by his progressive concern for art, devoted much of his activity as bishop of Córdoba to the patronage of training and artistic creation. A work that, on the basis of the artists promoted and protected by the prelate during the aforementioned period, meant the introduction of academic aesthetic values in the Cordoba Diocese.
