The article focuses on how environmental quality standards are created, implemented, and enforced in the U.S. It mentions that components of water quality standards with determination of total maximum daily loads and enforcement of the Clean Water Act. It also mentions that enforcement of Clean Air Act with design and creation of National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). It also mentions the regulatory policy of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on environmental quality.
