- Abstract
The article discusses the interplay of human rights, sex, and gender in international lawmaking as of June 2011. An examination of the international law's treatment of sexual violence is provided, including information on developments in women's rights and transformative gender change movements. Research regarding gender-based violence towards women, as well as information on the search for an international definition of gender are also mentioned. Several human rights legislative efforts are addressed, including the U.S. Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003.
