- Abstract
The article discusses changes in the meaning of the Bulgarian word "ta," which may be used as a coordinating or subordinating conjunction or a discourse marker. The author explores ta's function of separating topics to left and right within sentences. She comments on exocentric and endocentric constructions, infinitive constructions, and finite verbs. Uses of ta in Standard Bulgarian, Old Church Slavonic, and Early Modern Bulgarian are explored, with particular focus on homilies called the damaskins.
