- Abstract
The article presents information on the AIDS preventive campaign organized by the Ministry of Health of Zambia. This nationwide health education campaign began in 1986 with the main thrust was to create awareness on AIDS through electronic and print media among the multi-lingual and multi-ethnic inhabitants of Zambia. The report on the assessment of the impact of the AIDS education concluded that 95.1% respondents were aware of AIDS and 61.8% knew it was caused by HIV. Respondents indicated that they had multiple sources of information on AIDS including radio, daily papers and leaflets.
