- Authors
Offner, Jerome A.
- Abstract
The reign of Techotlalatzin, ruler of Texcoco in the 14th century and a central figure in early Aztec history, is apparently well reported in such sources as Ixtlilxochitl and Torquemada. However, these reports are often based on misinterpretations of the Codex Xolotl or a similar document, and have often been accepted by contemporary writers. Consequently, these errors in interpretation will be identified and discussed in order to come to a more accurate understanding of Techotlalatzin's governmental policies and accomplishments.
