- Abstract
The importance of "asabiyya" in the use of political power in Ibn Khaldun. Social life is necessary for human existence. This makes it necessary to their organization and establish the state. To organize, it is a political institution created by individuals to reach collective goals. The state is the political status of a people whose borders are organized on a certain territory. Ibni Khaldun thinks that the state is based on two bases. One of them is "asabiyya". Secondly, the state is the money needed to pay all expenses. "Asabiyya" is the unity that nations have to protect their homeland from the attacks of strangers, to invade the invaders and to expand their territory. It builds the foundation of the political power necessary to establish and govern the state. According to Ibn Khaldun, it is necessary to be noble to have a strong "asabiyya". Therefore, state founder, to become ruler to be, the person makes it essential to preserve and maintain the unity of their lineage. Because the "asabiyya" deterioration means that the political power necessary for the state and the ruling is to demolition.
