- Abstract
The article explores the concepts of mythscape and unity in the music of funk musician George Clinton and his band Parliament. It examines how Parliament strives to create what the author calls a unified place, which can be construed as a way to promote a sense of either racial solidarity or pan-racial brotherhood. It presents a brief background of the band, Clinton and the P-Funk mythology. It also tackles themes of Afrofuturism and Black Nationalism.
