- Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO: A responsabilidade filial é uma norma social relacionada ao comportamento dos filhos no cuidado aos pais idosos. OBJETIVOS: Analisar a associação entre atitudes de responsabilidade filial e comportamentos de cuidar de filhos cuidadores de idosos em uma região do Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul. MÉTODOS: Estudo transversal com amostra de 100 filhos da Região Noroeste do Rio Grande do Sul. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio da entrevista no domicílio por meio do protocolo de responsabilidade filial. As atitudes de responsabilidade filial foram avaliadas pelas escalas de Expectativa Filial e Dever Filial e os comportamentos por meio das escalas de atividades básicas (AVDs) e Instrumentais da vida diária (AIVDs), apoio emocional, companhia e apoio financeiro. A análise inferencial foi realizada com base na correlação de Pearson. O projeto foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética e Pesquisa (1.997.406). RESULTADOS: Houve predomínio de filhas cuidadores (63%), casadas (68%) com média de idade 48,7 ± 11,0; 49% residiam com o idoso. As atitudes de expectativa filial apresentaram associação estatisticamente significativa com o comportamento de cuidar em relação a ajuda nas AIVDs (p = 0,007). CONCLUSÃO: Tais achados demonstram que os filhos cuidadores que ajudam nas AIVDs apresentaram escores significativamente mais baixos de expectativa filial. Os resultados fornecem subsídios para a Enfermagem no processo de cuidar do idoso e cuidador bem como para o planejamento de um cuidado integral.
