- Abstract
The article focuses on the frequent drug shortages under the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It discusses the shortage of the drug norepinephrine which is used for people suffering with septic shocks, and later replaced by using phenylephrine and dopamine. It talks about the challenges in the production of sterile injectable drugs including lack of quality control testing, drug crystallization and labor reduction in the pharmaceutical industry.
