- Authors
Mann, Cindy; Osius, Elizabeth
- Abstract
The article looks at health care reform in the U.S., focusing on the Medicaid program of health insurance for low-income people and how the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) has affected it. It discusses the decision of some U.S. states not to expand their Medicaid programs as provided for under the ACA and says Medicaid expansion has improved the fiscal conditions of those states agreeing to do it. The ACA's Marketplaces, or health insurance exchanges, are cited.
