- Abstract
The author comments on two studies published within the issue on the evaluation of a good physician. One study compared the rates of ambulatory care-sensitive hospitalizations (ACSH) for Medicare patients of 2 groups of general internists, one with time-unlimited board certification and another with time-limited Maintenance of Certification (MOC), while another study analyzed standard Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS)-type process measures.
