- Abstract
The author comments on a study published in this issue of the journal which compared first- and second-generation long-acting injectable antipsychotics in patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. Particular focus is given to the adverse effect profiles of haloperidol decanoate and paliperidone palmitate. According to the author, further study is need on the relative risk of adverse effects in antipsychotics and the personalized medicine approach.
