- Title
Main group chemistry: Bonsai phosphorus.
- Authors
Coyle, Emma E.; O'Brien, Christopher J.
- Abstract
The authors discuss the study by Alexander Radosevich and colleagues on the mode of reactivity describing phosphorus for the development of phosphine-catalysed transfer hydrogenation similar to transition metals. The authors state that Radosevich does not propose a mechanism that converts compounds 1 and 2, however, the outcome can be regarded as an oxidative addition of hydrogen molecule to phosphorus. They add that the study demonstrates the unique effect of bonsai-ing the phosphorus centre.
