- Title
Catalytic water oxidation: Rugged water-oxidation anodes.
- Authors
Llobet, Antoni
- Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges in building sun-driven or electrocatalytic water-splitting devices. It focuses on the effective water-oxidation hybrid catalyst system by attaching a ruthenium-polyoxometallate complex to a carbon nanotube. It notes that water oxidation is a challenging task for a catalyst because of its large endothermicity of the reaction. It details the use of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) decorated with polyamidoamine (PAMAM) ammonium dendrimers to electrostatically bind the deca-anionic complex to create an oxygen-evolving anode.
