- Title
HUMAN TRAFFICKING FOR BEGGING.
- Authors
Cherneva, Iveta
- Abstract
The article discusses a research on the issue of human trafficking for organized and forced begging and the need for legally conceptualizing begging as trafficking under international law. The research further probes into the factors leading to psychologically driven consumer demand which triggers this illicit activity of begging. It is suggested to criminalize begging to discourage trafficking for begging by punishing the traffickers, protecting victims and establishing victims' human rights.
